Just thought I would stop by with a random blurb about how my birthday and graduation went. We ended up eating at a mostly vegetarian restaurant, Field of Greens. At first it angered me that no one would explore any new foods, I had really hoped that I would break down some barriers by showing my family that vegan food can be delicious. To my dismay they all ordered quesadillas off the kids menu, and my brother ordered tuna. Then my morbid sense of humor kicked in as I realized how uncomfortable my family was and I actually thought I might break down a different barrier. I hoped they would realize how I feel when they don’t consider me in choosing restaurants.

We went to both San Antonio and Corpus Christi to celebrate even further. It started to become very irritating how isolated Shannon and I became from my family because of our veganism. They either dropped us off at a separate restaurant or we were forced to sit at a table that had NO vegan options.

Over all I enjoyed our trip, I just felt like even though we went to the restaurant I wanted there was still a major lack of consideration for my veganism.
