It’s rather pleasing to hear that our friends across the Atlantic have taken several steps in the right direction. Scotland has put a ban on the selling of animals to those under the age of 16, and in Britain hunting dogs are allowed to follow scent but not allowed to actually kill the animal being hunted. Although these are not complete solutions they are steps in the right direction. What really caught my eye was an article I read about Spanish TV pulling their broadcast of bull fights in Spain because of falling ratings and public disapproval. I am almost envious considering I reside in Houston, Texas where rodeos are the pride and glory this time of year. I think I will be joining my local vegan association in protest against the rodeo next year.
