It is always heart breaking to loose a companion animal and it is common to fill this void by getting another animal shortly after. I always discourage others from getting dogs from breeders because there are so many loving dogs that will euthanized this year. I feel that breeding practices are inhumane but now there are even newer practices arising that I think just add to the problem. BBC news just published a story about a woman who wants to clone her deceased pit bull. I find it ridiculous that she is willing to pay $150,000 for this to be done when that money could be used to save so many more animals if it were donated to the right organizations.
