Hello (Veggie) World!
As I backspace the default message from my blogging software WordPress I think of what to really say on the first post to my new website. To be honest I didn’t quite know what to say at first but I think I should start by explaining a little bit about my self and this blog.
Welcome to VegPress!
I am a strong believer in animal rights, and a huge environmentalist. It is of my beliefs that ALL beings are born with certain unalienable rights which include the right not to be exploited. I attempt to to honor this right by following a vegan life style. If you don’t know what it means to be vegan then you might want to take a few steps back and go check out the FAQ at Vegan.com.
The roots of the name VegPress are really easy to comprehend, Veg is basically short for vegan and Press is referring to News. Those are basically the two fundamentals that this site revolves around, VeganNews or VegPress.
I am not a fan of propaganda. I also believe that veganism is like religion, it should be practiced not preached. I hope that this site will help educate the world about veganism without imposing on the rights of those who choose not follow a vegan life style. I am not here to judge, I am here to inform and put what little insight I can on a very complicated world.
With all of this in mind I came up with a mission statement for this site, it will always be displayed on the side bar but I will also state it in this post.
VegPress is dedicated to educating the world about vegan life styles by providing news, interviews, recipes, and sheer information. It is a haven for vegans to read our , and share their own, experiences in hopes of bringing the community closer together in our goal of improving animal rights, our health, and the environment.
I realize that it might sound weird for me to refer to my self in a plural state, but it’s really not as bad as it sounds. My girlfriend helps me out a lot with the behind the scenes work and will be posting in this blog as well.
Thanks for checking out VegPress, and hopefully by the next time you visit I will have more content up.
